John MacCallum (WJ CFO)
John R. MacCallum III grew up in Elbridge, New York. He was introduced to hunting by his father, John R MacCallum Jr., and then by his Grandfather John R. MacCallum Sr. John went duck hunting for the first time when he was just 6 years old and has been addicted ever since. His son, John R. MacCallum IV, has been in the duck blind since he was just nine months old. Hunting is, and will remain, a MacCallum family tradition.

With over 20 years of hunting in the United States, John’s experience ranges from waterfowl, upland game birds, small game and big game animals. John has taken many large game animals to include Black bear, Whitetail, and Caribou. His passion however is waterfowl hunting. He feels there is nothing like watching the setting wingtips of big honkers or green heads setting into his decoys. With the wing tips touching and back peddling, there is nothing like watching birds dump into your spread because you enticed them to. What a feeling!

John’s hunting took place mostly in the United states until recently when he traveled to Germany and Hungary to pursue the Roe deer. John is a firm believer that it is important to take children hunting. He especially enjoys mentoring young hunters and ensuring that the time honored traditions are passed on. Without the youth in the sport we have no sport.
